The participants will achieve the following learning outcomes:

  1. Define the purpose and benefits of a community of practice
  2. Describe how a community of practice can be established and methods for its sustainability
  3. Identify an existing community of practice and create an analysis of it
  4. Review participatory appraisal methods and reflect on how this can be used in a community of practice
  5. Review participatory appraisal methods and reflect on how this can be used to engage young people
  6. Gather resources that can be used by others to support the development of a community of practice
  7. Reflect upon what has been learnt about a community of practice within a personal context
  8. Describe the purpose of an action learning set within the context of continuing professional development
  9. Compare and contrast the three basic conventions or ground rules used for action learning sets in a professional environment
  10. Describe the key roles needed to ensure a successful and productive action learning set
  11. Define the difference between co-design and co-production within a professional IAG environment
  12. Demonstrate how the co-production model and the six principles of coproduction can be used to develop practice or a service
